Charles Albert Moster is a graduate of Georgetown University (1977) and holds a law degree from Temple University (1984) and Master’s Degree from San Diego State University (1979). Mr. Moster is active in all practice areas with a focus on the Firm’s technology, intellectual property client matters, and top scientists in the field.
In addition to his work within the Firm, he is the co-founder of SpeakSoft ™ a software development company charged with creating the World’s first computer system capable of passing the Turing test. The company, Virtual Chaley, LLC is named after Mr. Moster’s four-year-old daughter which definitely keeps him young. No time to slow down!
Charles is the also the Co-Founder of Future2050 LLC, (along with Stephen Miller) a Texas Limited Liability Company which acts as a generator and repository for unique intellectual property. The idea was spawned by the e-magazine, www.future2050.net which publishes monthly articles on the future of technology anticipated for the year 2050 in key sectors of the World’s economy. Future2050, LLC is involved in the actual development of this new technology by acquiring IP and seeking out relationship with inventors, scientists, and technologists.
Mr. Moster commenced his career as a litigation attorney during the Reagan and George H.W. Bush Administrations where he primarily represented the Economic Development Administration and it multi-billion dollar loan portfolio. He went on to become a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Deckelbaum & Ogens in 1993 and opened his first Texas law office in 1996 in Austin and later in Lubbock, Midland, Amarillo, Abilene, Georgetown, Houston, and Dallas. He is an AV rated “Preeminent Lawyer” and “Client Champion” as conferred by Martindale Hubbell, the oldest attorney rating service in the U.S. (since 1865). As a litigator and IP attorney for over 34 years, Charles has represented clients in all sector areas and across the country. He has also spearheaded the development of case law and has published court decisions dating back to 1986.
In addition to his legal pursuits, Mr. Moster has published 7 non-fiction books and two children’s stories. His books cover a wide range of science and technology issues including computer science, physics, and astronomy/spaceflight. He is an award-winning songwriter, playwright, and lyricist. His musicals have appeared Off-Broadway and venues across the country including National Public Radio.
As a newspaper columnist, his articles have appeared in numerous publications including the Austin-American Statesman, USA Today, the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, Amarillo Globe, among others.
